Austrian Society for Thermography

The Austrian Society for Thermography was founded in 1988 by Univ. Prof. Dipl. Ing. Dr. Gerhard Stehno and Prof. Ing. Friedrich Mendel. It is a non-political, non-profit society that is intended as a forum for the exchange of experience and information as well as training. This is achieved through national and international contacts as well as seminars and congresses. The annual Thermography Forum Eugendorf has established itself as the prime location for expert communication in Central Europe.

Further goals are the creation and constant revision of quality criteria for reports, diagnosis, assessments and certificates for users of thermography devices as well as the consultation of chambers, authorities and public institutions in the field of IR-thermography.
Since 1994, the members have also been offered trainings. Since 2000, there has been close cooperation between the ÖGfTh, SECTOR Cert and the METEG Training Centre GmbH. The society today has 135 members and is active in important European norm and expert committees. It counts many universities, technical colleges and private research institutions among its partners or members.
